The Options Glossary

Adjustable flat hood – flat cinchable hood.

Buckles strap — padded buckle carrier strap, either straight or curved, that attaches to the carrier body using buckles.  These buckles are adjustable in both directions.

Buckle Waist — soft or firm padded contour waist band with webbing and buckle closure.

Butterfly strap — padded wrap strap.

Chest clip – fabric or webbing loop and buckle to help position shoulder straps on a buckle carrier.

Curved strap — padded buckle strap with a curve meant to follow the body around the shoulder and under the arm. Normal length is 16″, petite is 14″.

Firm padding — for waist bands.  Still soft and moldable but with more density than the soft padding.

Fit adjusters — adjusters for the top of the shoulder on buckle strap carriers.  The straps with fit adjusters are 14-17″ in length.

Headrest  — soft padded extension for the top of the carrier body.  It may be folded down when not in use.

Hoodie Hood — A curved hood resembing a sweat shirt hood.

Internal layer — a third layer in any style of carrier made from either wrap, linen or cotton fabric as requested for a more supportive carrier.

Ladder locks  —  Single direction buckle-free adjust for buckle style straps.  These type of straps can not be crossed over the back for a front carry.

Quilting — decorative stitching over soft padding.

Regular (soft) padding — soft 1/2 inch foam.

Ring waist — soft padded or firm padded waist band with ring sling closure.

Straight strap — straight strap for buckle carriers.  This kind of strap can be crossed over the back for front carries. Normal length is 16″, petite is 14″.

Tie Waist — soft or firm padded waistband with wrap tie waist.

Thick padding  — double thick 1″ foam.

Wrap strap — unpadded shoulder strap for a mei tai style carrier.  There are two options fo the style of pleats.  Regular box pleat or hybrid style pleat.  The hybrid pleat is most suitable for non-reversible carriers.
